The Pharma Research and Early Development Centre, which is intended to be part of the campus of the pharmaceutical company Roche, has been completed in Basel. The Swiss bureau Herzog & de Meuron was responsible for the design of the complex. The pRED centre consists of four buildings – a conference centre, an office and two laboratory towers, which are simple block volumes of different heights.

They are connected to each other by a network of glazed corridors that offer views of the public areas and the garden. A bridge on the 13th floor passes through the two towers, which the architects call the world's first high-rise laboratories. The areas between the buildings are designed to have green spaces and paths: according to the team's idea, they allow the territory to become an active part of urban life.
